New year, post Covid: AspiraCloud helps UK Multi-Academy Trusts get back to class

Deborah Jepson

It’s the start of a new school year and teachers and pupils are returning to live lessons back in the classroom.

The AspiraCloud team has been fully focussed over the busy summer months, supporting over 50 schools UK across the UK as they continue the process of merging to Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs).

With many schools looking to drive greater collaboration across their Trust, save costs and standardise the offering, we’ve been working on several digital transformation projects ready for the return of staff and students this September. We have managed and delivered successful Microsoft 365 cloud migration projects for a number of MATs of various sizes, including the Southport Learning Trust, the Bridge Academy Trust, The Education Alliance and more.

“Thanks to AspiraCloud, our Trust is now under one Microsoft 365 tenancy. This had been a longstanding goal to achieve for our organisation and the team supported us from start to finish. Any obstacles were easily overcome in a professional and timely manner, we now look to AspiraCloud for any and all of our larger technical queries regarding cloud solutions and 365 issues.” – Matt Wadsworth, IT Director, The Education Alliance

Projects have ranged from the merger of 16 separate school subscriptions into one Microsoft 365 tenant, a SharePoint and Teams migration for another Multi Academy Trust, the migration of user mailboxes and OneDrive as well as user identity set up and device management. Many of these areas continue to be a core focus for schools since the start of the pandemic and subsequent increase in remote learning. The need to share good practice and standardise excellent IT services across the Trusts has never been so important.

Bringing each school together under one Active Directory to manage IT services for staff and students offers a more flexible, secure and cost-efficient way of working than managing users in separate tenants. It allows schools to share content and vital services securely and presents the opportunity to step away from on premises services all together. The ability to manage identities, services and devices all from Azure Active Directory has been a particularly useful feature for many primary schools looking to reduce complexity and IT support. Combined with user training and on-going managed services support, many schools are already seeing significant improvements.

“AspiraCloud helped us plan and deploy a successful Microsoft 365 migration across 3 schools, migrating almost 2,000 mailboxes onto a single tenant. This has really helped us collaborate faster, smarter and securely.” – Jon Gardner, Trust Strategic Network Manager, SouthPort Learning Trust

AspiraCloud has an unrivalled education experience working with a variety of Multi-Academy Trusts and different schools, from primary schools and high schools to sixth form and Further Education colleges. We remain dedicated to improving IT and communications for pupils and teachers alike, to support the provision of a first-class education for everyone.

We wish all our school partners a successful start to the new school year!
